AIMMETRIX continues its commitment to advancing higher education in Indonesia through immersive technology. On November 2, 2024, AIMMETRIX signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Faculty of Mining and Petroleum Engineering (FTTM) at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), marking a major milestone in the integration of Virtual Reality (VR) into academic programs.
Enhancing Education with VR Simulation
The signing ceremony was attended by FTTM Dean Prof. Dr. Ridho Kresna Wattimena, M.T., Ph.D., IPU, and representatives from AIMMETRIX. Through this partnership, FTTM ITB will incorporate AIMMETRIX’s VR simulation technology into its curriculum, offering students realistic training experiences that mirror actual mining operations.
Using the “Mining Engineering Simulator Series,” students will be able to safely and interactively explore standard operational procedures in the mining industry. The simulator is designed to meet current industry standards and operates via Oculus Quest 2, ensuring flexibility and ease of use.
Remarks from Leadership
Prof. Ridho emphasized the importance of technological adaptation in higher education:
"This collaboration aligns with our vision to bring technological innovation into teaching and learning. With AIMMETRIX’s support, we aim to provide our students with deeper and more practical understanding in mining engineering."
Ir. Giswa Ade Nugraha K., S.T., IPP, CEO of AIMMETRIX, expressed his enthusiasm:
"We’re proud to partner with FTTM ITB. Our VR solutions are designed to enhance practical skills and simulate real-world conditions, preparing students to meet industry demands."
Future Innovation
This partnership is expected to drive further innovation in VR content development for technical education in Indonesia. It also reinforces AIMMETRIX’s role in shaping highly skilled mining engineers ready to face global challenges.
